Looking for fun, different build for PvE
Greetings!
My elementarist just got himself a new beautiful air staff, and he is looking for a build to compliment it.
I like to play a more supportive style rather than the typical nuker/spiker builds as I find they are one-dimensional and boring, albeit effective.
I have been fooling around with blinding surge, shell shock and epidemic, which is a fun little combo. Wards are fun too, if you ask me ( and needed for clumped up henches!)
so, does anyone have a fun, different build? (Master of Magic?, Ward Against Harm?, Blinding Surge?) I have access to all campaigns, and the staff is req9, so I don't need to run with max air.
regards,
IGN Gust Arandi
BTW; the staff is not modded yet, so if you have suggestions there aswell, feel free to share..

Aahh, the good old Prophecies skin... cute.
For Air Magic, damage sucks. Support is the way to go, and you're right in thinking about Blinding Surge - you can be a very potent physical-hate character.
You're thinking something along the lines of...
12+1+1 Air Magic
10+1 Earth Magic
8+1 Energy Storage
[skill]blinding surge[/skill]shell shock[skill]enervating charge[/skill][skill]epidemic[/skill][skill]ward against melee[/skill][skill]glyph of lesser energy[/skill][skill]air attunement[/skill]
... then an open slot; one of the PvE skills would work well - the Ebon Wisdom Ward, Lightbringer's Gaze/Alkar's Acid for demons/destroyers, or a res sig.
Oh, and as for the staff mods... I'd likely go Adept/Hale of Fortitude with a 20% HCT inscription.

[skill]Blinding Surge[/skill][skill]Ancestors' Rage[/skill][skill]Splinter Weapon[/skill][skill]Ward Against Melee[/skill][skill]Air Attunement[/skill][skill]Glyph of Lesser Energy[/skill][skill]Death Pact Signet[/skill]is gud.
Stick in a PvE skill or something.

Here is what I run when I'm feeling in an Air magic kinda mood.
12 - Air
12 - Energy Storage
[skill]Elemental Attunement[/skill][skill]Air Attunement[/skill][skill]Arc Lightning[/skill][skill]Lightning Strike[/skill][skill]Lightning Bolt[/skill][skill]Lightning Hammer[/skill][skill]Enervating Charge[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
Now you can Swap out [skill]Enervating Charge[/skill] for either [skill]Chain Lightning[/skill] or [skill]Blinding Flash[/skill].
If your going into PvP I suggest Swaping [skill]Lightning Bolt[/skill] for [skill]Blinding Flash[/skill] and taking out [skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill] for [skill]Aura of Restoration[/skill]. That build can effectivly take out most melee classes in AB while maintaining your energy and health.
